This is a fantastic scrap buster technique. This time I have created a technique for using thin fabric strips and again this time no ironing is necessary and hardly any pins are used. The resulting fabric can be used as an abstract art piece or to create clothing, bags or pouches and also for home décor items. such as table runners and pillows.
You will learn how to create strip quilted patchwork fabric. You will also learn how to bind and prepare your quilted art work for hanging.
Tools
Sewing Machine - Fabric Scissors - Long thin sharp pins and magnet - Tape Measure - Tailors chalk – Iron – Ironing Board and a Water Spray -simple glue stick
You don't need to buy any special tools for this, a regular domestic sewing machine will do the job. When I teach I don't know what machines or tools people will have and I want everyone to be able to use my techniques without having to spend any money to buy new machines or expensive tools. My tutorials are designed to be used with a standard domestic straight stitch machine. You can also reuse fabrics you have at home to recreate them into a beautiful piece of fabric.
