Wave Landscape Slow Stitching

Writer's picture: Sharon PriganSharon Prigan

After receiving many requests from people who don't sew by machine I have created a Wave Landscape Slow Stitching Tutorial. The first in a series.

I will be creating a Wave Floral Garden, a Wave Sunset and a Wave Nova Star pdf tutorial as well as video tutorials for all of the slow stitching techniques.

The first one is done. There are many options for using this technique. It can be used as art in a hoop or a frame. It can be an applique on a bag or a pillow and if sewing a small piece, one can create a pendant on a necklace or as a brooch.

You don't need to buy any special tools for this, hand sewing needles will do the job. You can also reuse fabrics you have at home to recreate them into a beautiful piece of art.

For the first samples for the tutorial I used ocean colored fabric scraps.

and created 2 different techniques with the fabric scraps.

and a more classical hand quilted Wave Landscape Slow Stitched fabric art piece

I am already working on a video tutorial for the first technique and it will availablle in the video section on the site https://www.priganart.com/videocourses

I also create different colored samples when I teach which I gift.

Family, friends and students know this so I have already been asked to use greys in my next sample as somebody wants to be gifted a grey piece :)

It is in the works and I have been collecting grey fabric scraps for the sample.
