Every week should have a day of rest. Our designated one is Saturday, I don't always strictly keep to it but I do find that there is an importance to it.
A day for relaxation, meditation and rejuventaion. I think that eveyone should choose his/her own manner for that and mine is creativity. It brings me closer to myself.
I searched for, this morning, and found an ongoing slow stitching project which I had begun a number of years ago.
It was originally intended for a one year, one stitch a day project. I found myself picking it up and putting it down and not enjoying the dictation of the one stitch a day project so I gave it a new name - Slow Stitch Saturday.
What I do an Saturdays, my designated day of rest and meditation is pick it up and survey what I have done to it during the week, enjoy the progress and just flow with it.
I began with a chosen set of colors but find that I am adding to it. Today I wanted to add black
but I haven't found that thread box yet so I worked in green instead. It is a work in motion.
It has no preformed structure, so as I work it is taking on a life of its own. I am curious to see where it will go.
A time for slowing down :)
I like it, thank you for sharing! I also rest on Saturday...it is a good day for resting. :) Blessings!
