How many shades of orange are there?

I am working with orange shaded fabrics this week and while sorting fabrics thought about how many shades of orange are there. So I decided to do a bit of research and was quite surprised by what I found.
There is a very detailed article on Wikipedia where I learned many things. There are many different shades of orange in the pantry, and in nature. The color orange is also used in symbolism, religion and politics.
How many shades of orange are there, to name just a few
citron - saffron - coral - turmeric - cadmium - copper - mango - papaya - persimmon
orange animals
tiger - canary - flamingo - koi - salmon
fruit and vegetables
oranges - nectarines - melons - carrots - sweet potatoes - pumpkin - mango
See the Wikipedia article here for detailed information about orange - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orange_(colour)
As always happens when I begin researching a subject I go down rabbit holes and learn all sorts of interesting things.
I found the Color Meanings site by Jacob Olesen with a very detailed breakdown of a large range of different orange colors
I went to the box of orange hand sewing threads

and chose a selection to work with

and first created a small slow stitch wave landscape patchwork piece

Next to create a large orange shaded wave landscape patchwork art quilt
Follow to see what else I create with oranges
