A Grey Day

Writer's picture: Sharon PriganSharon Prigan

Today is a grey day, fitting for working with grey fabrics to create a grey slow stitched wave landscape.

As usual when sorting fabrics I envision a number of different projects. I have trained myself to sort the fabrics according to size and then according to the different techniques that I will be using.

I also chose threads for the slow stitch project.

The first pile is pieces sized for the slow stitch piece that I will be working on today.

and the larger pieces I keep for the 25 x 30 cm wave landscape patchwork pieces that I am also working on these days.

The smaller and odd shaped pieces.

I will be using to create 2 ScrapFabric pieces . One will be a small art quilt and the other I will use to create a zippered pouch.

I don't really sew products anymore. I don't sell my makes as I have said before I gift them and the only product that I do make a lot of, whenever I have appropriately size fabrics are zippered pouches.

I can never have too many. Whether for storing items, jewelry, cosmetics, tools, teas or for using as gift bags, they always come in handy and they are a necessary product to have.
