A Bit of Bling

Purim is nearing and for the costume I have in mind I need some bling jewelry.

I went to my green, blue and turquoise button and bead stash, chose a selection

and then made a pattern. I wanted a long ring but it had to be comfortable and my finger has to be able to bend without any problems. What I did was design a tapering pattern where the folded under piece of the ring would taper away.

I chose the length, about 5.5 cm and a width of 3 cm then added another 2 cm on either side leaving the height of the outer edges of the ring at 1 cm and tapered the top and the bottom of the ring towards the 1 cm height on the side.

and I can easily bend my finger.

I cut the pattern out from some stiff patchwork fabric that I had and chose the buttons and beads.

I stitched the beads and buttons to the center panel, measured it on my finger and stitched the ring closed.

There are no beads on the sides so it won't chafe on my other fingers.

Here is my bling.
